The first interview is FREE

With thousands of wills and estates completed over five decades, Neal Collin Lawyers is a specialist in writing wills, resolving will disputes, setting up powers of attorney and administering deceased estates.

Whether setting up your last will, contesting a will or needing probate for a deceased estate, you can rely on the experts at Neal Collin Lawyers to handle your personal situation with due diligence and sensitivity in balance with strength and fearlessness to successfully resolve conflict and negotiate an outcome in your favour.

The purpose of a will is to ensure the fair distribution of your estate after your death and the ongoing protection of your loved ones’ wealth. Wills can acknowledge spouses, children, friends and carers after your death. The best way to avoid your will becoming a source of conflict or open to contest is to speak to us about creating a watertight will and secure your asset distribution.

Our probate lawyer can also ensure that your instructions are carried out as prescribed. Should you be unable to attend our office, we will visit your home, take instructions to prepare your will, then make a second visit to help you sign the documents and have them correctly witnessed according to the law.

If you already have a will, we will happily advise and review your will without fee.

Legal Costs

Wills (husband and wife, domestic partners) - $485 (+ GST) for both
Wills (Single) - $385 (+ GST)

Contested Wills

Neal Collin Lawyers has a 100% success rate in handling the hundreds of contested will cases it has taken on.

We are so confident in our ability to fight for our clients’ rights under the law, we only charge if we win.

We will carefully assess the merits of your claim. If you believe you have been unfairly treated in an existing will or completely left out of one in which you believe you have a claim, we are happy to assess your situation free of charge and proceed with action if appropriate.

Legal Costs

Legal costs are payable only if you win and at the conclusion of the matter. In most cases, legal costs are paid by the estate.

Powers of Attorney

A Power of Attorney acts on your behalf to oversee financial matters and / or medical care should you be unable to manage these yourself.

Whether putting in place procedures for the long-term future or planning for foreseeable or potential changes to your mental or physical capacity, we can provide succinct advice on:

  • Financial Power of Attorney
  • Medical Power of Attorney

Financial Power of Attorney

An Enduring Power of Attorney (Financial) is a legal document appointing another person to act on your behalf and make financial and legal decisions if you are unwilling or unable to do so yourself. The document should be prepared and witnessed according to the law.

Medical Power of Attorney

An Enduring Power of Attorney (Medical) is a legal document appointing another person to make medical decisions on your behalf should you be unable to do so yourself. This document is often required by doctors to gain permission for a medical procedure. The document should be prepared and witnessed according to the law.

Legal Costs

  • Enduring Power of Attorney Single (Financial and Medical) - $385 (+ GST)
  • Enduring Power of Attorney Husband and Wife (Financial and Medical) - $485 (+ GST)

If you are an executor of a deceased estate and wish to ensure the entitlements and funds are distributed swiftly to beneficiaries, our expert deceased estate lawyer can help. Neal Collin Lawyers is highly experienced in handling the complexities of deceased estates and expediting the probate process with the aim of distributing assets without undue delay.

Legal Costs

A quotation and assessment of costs and fees will be provided.

I have just come out of a very difficult time, as when the time came for my father’s will to be distributed a family member contested his will, but thanks to Neal Collin and his staff in Berwick it is now resolved.

It took several months of negotiations, and eventually going to mediation in the County Count, where it was resolved successfully for me. I have utmost praise for Neal Collin, who guided me through this situation. He was always helpful and kind towards me and he explained things in words that I could understand.

The costs for me for this terrible time was far less than I had anticipated. The plaintiff who had employed a solicitor from a large Melbourne firm was charged double the amount of my costs.

I have now told all of my friends how happy I am with the outcome, thanks to Neal Collin.
